Lessons are normally 2hrs long, although 1hr lessons can be advantageous when you first
start learning, whereas approaching test time, you may find you need to do a couple of 3hr lessons. Paying
for your driving lessons in a block means you can have more flexibility with the lesson length, according
to the progress being made. Block booking also means you can be allocated a
regular lesson slot; if you pay weekly, then you will need to pay a week in
advance in order to secure your lesson time.
So, you can choose to book weekly 'pay-as-you-go' lessons with me, or you can pay for your driving lessons in blocks of 5 or 10 hours to reduce the hourly rate by £2 or £3 respectively (provided you give at least 24hrs notice if you need to cancel a lesson, then you will save £10 over 5hrs or £30 when you pay for 10hrs in advance). The Driving Standards Agency will tell you most learner drivers aged 17 to 24 need around 45 hours professional tuition to reach driving test standard, so block booking your lessons could save you £130 compared with paying for your lessons weekly.
